TJ & Amanda | Wedding

TJ and Amanda met at church and even though Amanda wasn't interested in any kind of relationship at the time, they became friends. TJ patiently bided his time, enjoying their friendship, but knowing he wanted to spend more time with her. She finally agreed to a first date and well, you can see how things turned out.

The wedding was beautiful and affectionally dubbed a rustic-romantic theme by the hard working bridesmaid who helped Amanda pull together many of the details. The candle light and sparkly details were perfectly set off by the low candlelight.

Will & Alyssa | Couples Shoot

Will and Alyssa were so much fun to work with and really were up for anything. Not only were they adorable...they really just fell naturally into any shot we wanted to try. We traipsed all over Yates Mill Pond from the old mill and water fall back around the property to the sun kissed grassy fields. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we did taking them!

Couple Portrait

Hair by Liz

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of taking a few pictures for Liz Perniciaro Hair Styling during a Wedding Show at The Hall and Gardens at Landmark. It was a beautiful event and the Landmark is an amazing venue. Liz, as always, produced fabulous hair in such a quick and professional manner. Everyone was so happy and I had a blast just getting to grab a few quick pictures and see it all come together.

We are hoping to use  the gardens at Landmark for a spring bridal shoot...so if you know any brides that would like some beautiful portraits...let them know we are looking for someone to model for us.

Will & Alyssa | Sneak Peek

Will and Alyssa are an amazing couple and were up for anything. We had a great time working with them to capture these images. They wanted a farm type feel, but we didn't have a farm to use at the time, so we went over to Yates Mill Pond. With the old mill barn, water dam, bridge trellises, fences, and tall grassy knolls...it was the perfect spot.

We are just getting started on editing and wanted to share a sneak peek of one of our favorite images.

Christmas Farm Wedding

We were going through some old files recently and came across these beautiful details from a Christmas Farm Wedding we shot. You can see all the love and care that went into this wedding preparation and there are so many fun and creative DIY projects that would add to any farm or christmas themed wedding. Enjoy!

TJ & Amanda | Engagement

I met Amanda years ago and was so honored when she contacted me about doing her wedding. She and TJ make an amazing couple and were so much fun to work with as we did their engagement photos. It would have been nice to see the sun, but alas, it was not to be...so we did our own lighting and set about discovering all that the beautiful Maymont Estate in Richmond, VA had to offer. It has everything from Italian gardens and Chinese gardens to beautiful trees, columns, benches, gazebos, you name..they had it.

TJ and Amanda were game for anything and we had a blast tramping around and capturing everything from the classic portraits to the fun and candid. I even climbed up a tree for one shot. I looked so funny hanging there that TJ was taking pictures of me while I was trying to take pictures of them....still waiting on a copy of that one.

Here are a few pictures from that shoot...enjoy!

Kelsey: Bridal Portraits

We had such a great time doing Kelsey's bridal portraits. The day was beautiful and the sun was just right. Kelsey is a gorgeous young woman with a fun and perky personality. She was up for anything and we spent all afternoon wandering through the old buildings and woods.

Kelsey met Brice at a youth drama camp and they dated all through college. Then one day after going to the zoo for Brice's birthday they went to grab a bite to eat. But Kelsey soon realized they were not heading the right direction and was promptly asked to keep her eyes closed. He finally stopped, and there on the side of the road where they had shared their first kiss, he knelt down and asked her to marry him. Kelsey was so excited she forgot to say yes and Brice had to ask her again.

Bethany : Bridal Portraits

When I asked Bethany how many dresses she had to try on to find the right one...she told me "two." I wish it was that easy for every bride. Bethany had been dreaming of the dress for year and as she stepped in front of the mirror, knew this was it!

Jeff & Bethany : Engagement Portraits

One of my favorite parts about doing engagement portraits is getting to know the bride and groom and listening to their stories. Jeff and Candace are so perfect together and I just loved the sweetness and thoughtfulness that went into Jeff's proposal.

Candace thought she had the inside scoop...and the word was that the ring wouldn't been coming for a while, so when Jeff showed up the morning of her birthday to take her to the park...she thought it was just a sweet birthday treat. He had asked around and found her favorite corner of the park where he had left a dozen roses and as they sat down for a morning bible study, Jeff asked Candace to read from Proverbs 31. Turning the page...she found a ring and looking up found Jeff kneeling and asking "Will you do me the honor of being my wife." Her response..."Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes."

Jeff & Candace : Wedding Photos

I had so much fun getting to know Jeff and Candace. Their story is like a romantic comedy come to life. I wish I could go into all the details, but long story short... Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boys dad assumes feelings are one sided and intervenes in hopes of saving his son from rejection. Girl likes boy. Awkward moment. Dad ends up setting them up instead. Boy gets to tell dad "I told you so." One year later...there is a wedding!

It was a beautiful wedding and the joy and excitement of starting a life together was just radiating from both the bride and the groom.

Candace : Bridal Portraits

I don't know many brides that can say they found the perfect dress on the first try, but Candace did. Her sister was teasing her one day about finding an old frumpy dress for her on craigslist and they stumbled across this beautiful silk dress. It fit perfectly and Candace just couldn't walk away.
